PPGBA's May monthly meeting will be held on Sunday May 10, 3 pm in Taube Hall at Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont. Join us for a thought provoking program by Andre Costantini plus PPGBA's monthly member print competition (PPGBA membership required to enter competition.).

This month's PPPGBA and GGS all-school assembly speaker is New York-based photographer André Costantini, sponsored by Tamron.

Last year André had the opportunity to start working with Doc to Dock, a non-profit NGO (Non-Government Organization) that donates medical supplies to different countries in
Africa. After three trips to Ghana, he has a body of work that is helping to educate the public and tell the story of Doc to Dock's mission. The work has been featured on the CBS Evening News and been used as an effective means to fundraise. Through a combination of stills and video, he will share how he finds ways to travel the world, experience different cultures, make a difference and share his passion of photography.

Andre's approach to photography and teaching is enjoyable, engaging and informative. He has taught photography seminars throughout the United States, Canada and the Caribbean and has written articles for Studio Photography and Design and Shutterbug.

Costantini's partial client list includes: American Repertory Theatre, Boston Early Music Festival, Constellation Center, Criterion Collection, Dynalite, L'oreal, and Rainbow Media. He also photographs modern dance companies and musicians. Assignments have brought him as far west as Prague and as far east as Japan as well as throughout the United States..

On Tuesday evening May 12, at 7 pm will be the GGS annual sponsor night show in Taube Hall at Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont.. This event is also open to non-students as well as the general public, so bring a friend. Many of Golden Gate School's sponsors will demonstrate their latest equipment, display products, and answer questions. Come prepared for some special deals plus the opportunity to meet one-on-one with some of the industry's best suppliers and manufacturers. This is your opportunity to bring your questions and your shopping list! In addition to the great exhibits there will be refreshments and door prizes

Monday-Wednesday June 11-13

Plan to beat the traffic, come early in the daytime and visit the GGS campus store. Our official GGS equipment supplier Midwest Photo Exchange will bring in gear for our instructors and will staff the GGS "store" for the week with deals on the equipment used in the classes and many other items. They promise great prices, ask about special package deals on top of current rebates. The "store" will be open until at least 6 pm (3 pm on 5/13), and then you can catch a quick dinner in the campus cafeteria (open to the public, dinner about $12) before an evening event.
